On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Thorp Police Department initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle driven by Kyle S. Borslien, a resident in the City of Thorp, in reference to a driver’s license violation and him having active warrants. Borslien disregarded attempts to stop his vehicle and proceeded to elude the officer by traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on State Highway 29 from the City of Thorp. At the intersection of State Highway 29 and County Highway O, Kyle turned southbound on O, and two Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies entered the pursuit. On County Highway O, between Black River Road and Colby Factory Road, the Clark County Deputies successfully stopped Borslien’s vehicle using a Moving Roadblock maneuver.
Speeds during the pursuit reached 100+ miles per hour. One squad car received minor damage due to Borslien’s vehicle striking it in the back.
Borslien was arrested on the following charges: Flee/Elude an Officer; Reckless Driving-Endangering Safety; Operating a Motor Vehicle after Revocation-Class D Driver’s License Violation (Ignition Interlock Device Violation).
The Thorp Police Department would like to thank the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Owen-Withee Police Department for their dedicated assistance.
