An article in the news got my attention in early August. The headline read "Cheap 'Electric Bandage' Speeds Wound Healing." I had heard and seen a number of things about various electric and magnetic things that could help with the body and healing in the past, but nothing much with real and verified data behind it. Well here, there IS data and study behind it. The article shared a number of points that helped fill things in.
In animal testing, wounds with these electric bandages healed 30% faster. The electricity is made by adding water to the face of the bandage, which creates a very weak charge. That charge is responsible, as I understood the article, for stimulating the regrowth of new tissue in the healing process. The study is being carried out through the Defense Department, to help find more readily available and simple means to speed recovery for all sorts of injuries.
And it only costs a couple of dollars to make one of these bandages, so it's affordable. There are a great many people in the world with various health situations where slow healing is an end result. This would help cut down on a number of drastic measures to be taken, such as removing limbs, by helping all manner of injury heal far more rapidly. It sounds too good to be true! But this time, the science and trials are being carried out to bring it into reality!
